Removable coronal-root post (dowel core)
Service Description
A removable coronal–root post (dowel core) is a prosthetic dental construction used to restore a severely damaged tooth after endodontic treatment (root canal filling). It serves as a reliable support for further reconstruction of the crown portion of the tooth or for the placement of a dental crown. The removable post consists of several components, allowing precise adaptation of the structure to the anatomy of the root canals, especially in multi-rooted teeth. This approach ensures high strength, stability, and even distribution of chewing forces, reducing the risk of root fracture. The treatment process includes preparation of the root canals, taking impressions or performing digital scanning, and the custom fabrication of the post in a dental laboratory. The finished construction is cemented into the root of the tooth using a specialized dental cement. A removable coronal–root post makes it possible to preserve the natural tooth, restore its function, and create a reliable foundation for long-term prosthetic treatment. It is an effective solution in complex clinical cases where other restoration methods are insufficient.
